A day at the fair…

I just returned from a day working at the crochet booth with my peeps at the San Mateo County Fair. Both items I entered for competition, the Aran Cardigan and the Diamond Shell Stole, won Blue Ribbons, with the Cardigan taking Best in Show, Crochet. Woot!

Never say never

My sainted mother would always tell me, “Never say ‘Never!’!” … never burn your bridges because you never know (geez..that 4 “nevers” in one sentence!) when life circumstances will change and you don’t want to come dragging back with your tail between  your kegs. Wise woman, she was.

Well, this may not exactly qualify as burning bridges, but I do have some news and background to give regarding events last April. You may remember that I closed my online store because I wasn’t happy with the quality of the website nor of web host’s customer service. When the time came renew my store (it’s part of the website, but has a separate fee),  I declined….in no uncertain terms…when contacted by the host. Apparently, I’m not the only one unhappy with the service. These folks were desparate..they offered me a free store until the end of the year, providing I wouldn’t trash them online (something which I had no intention of doing…. not by name, anyway :D) Well, free is free, so I am reopening the store, at least until the end of the year.

To celebrate the re-opening of the store at Chain Male Design,  I have reinstated the sale for the entire pattern line, including both aran sweaters which were not offered in the previous sale. Purchase the whole kit and caboodle for only $25. The sweater patterns may also be purchased alone, the pair for $5.

Craziness in the household for 2 weeks. I’ve been frantically finishing a Basket Weave Vest pattern for knitcircus.com I just made today’s deadline. It’s out of my hands now. I hope you will like it. I’ll tell more once I see it live.
