Crochet-a-long

Looking ahead to 2011, I’d like to gauge interest in participating in a Crochet-a-long for one of my patterns, most likely on of the hooded scarves, but I’m open to suggestions. Please respond to the  following poll. This is not a commitment – just an informal inquiry as to general interest. I, of course, would offer the pattern at a deep discount to all participants (and, lucky you, if you already have the pattern! :D) Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Still in Limbo

As noted on the Hookerbear Creations Facebook page, delivery on the cardigan pattern is still uncertain. AGIDA!!!! My website and associated email accounts have been down since Saturday. Again, to all you who are waiting patiently, my apologies. It will happen shortly. I will extend a 50% off credit to those who have pre-ordered to be applied to your next order. Thanks.

The best laid plans of mice and men…

With my sincerest apologies to those who have heretofore pre-ordered the Aran Cardigan, I am, nonetheless, delighted to announce that the Sweater is in final review with my proofreader (love you, Ginny!) and will be delivered by this Sunday evening. I am truly proud of this work. It is my most complex, textured work. Once mastered, the cables flow smoothly and effortlessly and the work approaches the level of mantra as the yarn flows swiftly over the fingers and around the hook.  The pattern is currently available in men’s sizes S-XL. However, I will rework the button band shortly to enable women’s sizes as well. Please consider purchasing this pattern. I doubt I will ever duplicate this endeavor.

More news of the exciting variety

As of this morning, the Shifting Sands Shell, which, some of you may remember,  I completed over a year ago and was fashioned with Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn, will be published in the May, 2011 issue of Crochet! Magazine. I am just thrilled about this. I really love that top and I know all of you will enjoy making it for yourselves or someone you love.

Adding to my exciting news today is that, as of this morning’s weigh-in at the Dr.’s office, I have lost a total of 37 lbs in 14 weeks. I’ve got 30 more to lose to achieve my current goal. Wish me luck.
